The former castles of Prince Eugen at austrian’s notheast corner, are the highlights of a daytour to Marchfeld. We are leaving vienna to the east, passing by Carnuntum, the former capital Panonia, during the roman time.

Crossing the danube near Hainburg we reach Eckartsau. This is probably the most famous one, known by historical background. The last austrian emperor has spend here the last months in austria.

After a short lunch break, I will show you the two remaining castles Hof and Niederweiden. Regarding Hof, formertimes residence of Marie Christine and Albert von Saxen Teschen, one has magnifficient view of the suburbs of the former capital of Hungary – Bratislava.
